1. Measure Your Window
Having measured the size of your panel, visit your local glass supplier and choose the glass you want (any type is suitable) or remove the glass you already have and use that.
2. Draw your design on paper.
We can provide you with a large selection of inexpensive patterns to copy from or even enlarge patterns, to provide a full size pattern. Ability to draw is certainly NOT a requirement to be able to produce magnificent GLASS MAGIC panels.
3. Apply Lead Strip.
After placing your glass 'over' the pattern you then 'create' your picture on the glass by using our HIGH BOND adhesive lead strip. Having completed the pattern on one side, you then turn the panel over and repeat the process on the other side. This creates the amazing 'cut glass' appearance.
4. Solder Joints.
A soldering iron is used to solder each joint. This prevents any stain leakage, looks great and is a very easy skill to master. After soldering you blacken the lead and solder, with patina.
5. Apply Glass Magic Stains.
The lead strip forms 'dam walls' to contain the special liquid stains. These stains are simply flooded on, using special applicators. You only stain ONE side and then curing occurs over 1 - 4 days. Being liquid, the stains are fully intermixable and can be used to create beautiful effects. This really is FUN, plus if you make a mistake, you simply 'wipe out' the stain and start again.
6. The Final Result.
YOU have completed a magnificent panel, quickly and easily. GLASS MAGIC not only looks great, but will stand the test of time. These professional quality materials have been around for nearly 20 years.
